Move documents into action
Document Processing Automation
Turn incoming documents into validated, structured work without hiding uncertainty. Connect email, uploads or forms to the systems your team already uses while keeping exceptions visible and recoverable.

Can this document workflow be automated without creating silent downstream errors?
For operations teams that repeatedly open documents, copy fields, check completeness and update another system. Strong candidates have recurring inputs, a clear destination and reviewers who can explain the exceptions that consume the most time.
Signals this may fit
- People retype the same fields from PDFs, scans, forms or email attachments.
- Documents wait in shared inboxes because ownership and next steps are unclear.
- Existing OCR extracts text but does not validate it against operational rules.
- A wrong field can affect billing, service, compliance or another consequential process.
Start with evidence
Bring representative, non-sensitive examples from the current workflow, including routine work and exceptions. We use them to make the scope and acceptance criteria concrete before expanding the build.
What you receive
- Document and field specification
- The supported inputs, required fields, validation rules, confidence boundaries and reasons a document must go to review.
- Connected processing workflow
- Intake, extraction and structured output connected to an approved destination or a bounded integration test.
- Exception and recovery controls
- A review queue, duplicate protection, audit context, retry limits and a defined way to pause or correct work.
How the engagement works
- 01
Sample
Collect representative documents, including poor scans, missing fields and uncommon layouts.
- 02
Separate
Use AI where interpretation is needed and deterministic rules where validation and action can be explicit.
- 03
Compare
Run the workflow without changing production records, then compare outputs with known decisions.
- 04
Release
Enable a bounded path, observe review volume and expand only when the evidence supports it.
What shapes scope and cost
- The number of document families, layouts, languages and image-quality conditions in scope.
- The complexity of validation, matching and destination-system integration.
- The consequence of an incorrect update and the review, audit and rollback controls required.
Common questions
- Is this the same as OCR?
- OCR turns an image into text. A processing workflow also identifies fields, applies rules, handles uncertainty and moves approved information to the next system.
- Can every document be processed automatically?
- That should not be assumed. The system needs an explicit route for unsupported formats, low-confidence extraction, missing information and conflicting records.
- Where does human review belong?
- Review should be triggered by defined uncertainty or consequence, with the source document, proposed values and validation results visible together.
- How do we start safely?
- Start with one document family and one destination. Run in observation mode before allowing the workflow to update operational records.
